Great small theater for movies and performances. Yesterday we drove up to see a talk and performance by Ana Gasteyer, since we've been listening to her album, "I'm Hip," nonstop. It's a great space, while it may not be a classic movie palace, it has a lot of charm, is friendly, comfortable, and seems to get great performers. Worth the hour and 15 minute drive from the nyc metro area. I will definitely return and maybe catch a movie during a winter ski trip to the Poconos.

I always enjoy visiting Pocono Community Theater. The staff is very friendly, and I enjoy their revival series.

Great 3 screen movie theater. Shows a lot of independent and artsy movies, as well as the newest ones you want to see. Comfortable, seldom crowded, nice artwork around and a great cafe. They serve awesome popcorn with REAL butter! Coffees, teas, mochas and lattes. Locally made baked goods. With membership, a ticket only costs $7 :-) They also have old movie showings, concerts, a book club... Great place!

Great venue to see a film, have coffee & dessert, or go to one of their select performances when the have them. Serving the community this Cinema has 3 screens with stages. Nice alternative to the Mall Cinemas and usually better choices of films. They show independent, foreign or quality selected first run movies. Not necessarily for kids (they have the mall), this is more of an adult scene. Worth checking out.

Great Theater!!!!! Ballsy Theater!!!!! Fearless Theater!!!!! Patriotic Theater!!!!! Just saw the movie, "The Interview" is not the greatest comedy I've ever seen and it can be download and watch in the safety of home but there's something about seeing something and taking stand for freedom that others fear that makes a good movie. F... You Kim Jong-Un I'll see what I want see!!!!!

This theater is a gem in a town that really doesn't have a whole lot going on. The place has changed hands a few times over the years but they finally have a good balance of movies, showing both independent and better-known, mainstream films. They also have a great revival series a couple of Sundays a month, where they show older movies (I personally love the month of October, as they will screen some great horror classics like Nightmare on Elm St. and Jaws). It's a nice place for coffee lovers, too, as there is a tiny café with a pretty good selection of drinks.

Had the wonderful opportunity to attend a night of Broadway in my backyard right here in PA thanks to owners of this wonderful old and charming theater. I do believe in supporting local and this movie theater is just that. Love going to see movies there for the last 5 years and will continue to do so.

As far as small town, historic community movie theaters go, there's no place better than the Pocono Community Theater. Not only does the theater play foreign and independent films, it also sources its snack bar locally. The cupcakes and goodies from Kitchen Chemistry are superb, and the popcorn is the best. I also love the Italian sodas - caramel is my favorite! I've frequented PCT many times for normal showings and midnight premieres. When I was a student at ESU, I also volunteered at the theater for a few events. The staff is always friendly and knowledgable. Although I've never attended a meeting, I've heard that the book club (for book-to-film adaptions) is a real treat. I would choose PCT over a large, corporate theater any day, and I really hope this non-profit stays open for many years to come!

Charming little theater. It takes you back in time when going to cinema was a magical experience. I love everything about it : the comfy seating, pleasant staff, delicious pop corn and cool lil snacks, as well as their movies selection. If by any chance you don't see them screening a particular movie you can always talk to the owner and perhaps he can arrange it. It doesn't get more personal than that.

This is the Angelica/Arclight of the Poconos: the place to see foreign/independent films, heck--the only place to see ANYTHING outside of the multiplexes' norms! Great sound quality, but if you've got a hearing disability, just ask for their special earphones and they'll take care of you! They're also disability friendly in many other ways, including easily accessible seating. Additionally, they've got 1 loveseat (doublewide seats) in each theater! Fun for snuggletime ;) Scott Peirce is the guy to go to if you want to have a particular film come in, he's a great guy. If you see him, give my love! Disclaimer: I know the guy who runs it, and both worked here for about 6 years and at one time, LIVED here. Ahh, you think I'm just joshin' ya, but it's a true story! Next time you pass by, look up at the windows above the marquis, and you'll have my former abode in your visage!

Really cool little theater with reasonably priced tickets and a nice cafe too. Good place to go on a date or catch a cool indie movie - and generally devoid of annoying groups of teenagers who populate most movie theaters and ruin the films (though I saw Napoleon Dynamite here in my teens with a group, so who knows)

This three screen movie theater showcases foreign and independent films, and serves some of the best coffee and espresso drinks in the area.

This place is like going to friend's house to watch a private screening! Three screen theatre: comfortable, and very clean seating for a 100, 75 and 55 (approx.) screening foreign and indies with a terrific little refreshment bar serving delicious coffees, teas and baked goods. Best popcorn! Fresh popped and never, ever from plastic bags. A non profit which hosts other community functions and always has area artist's work on display. Go by yourself, or with friends, become a member and save big bucks over the big time movieplex. This is local, first rate entertainment! OOPS! Forgot to mention that I travel 18 miles one way to go to this theatre - it IS that good!
